Junta Officials Mourns for the killing of a Chinese Mafioso

According to the people in the northern border town of Shan State, the local SPDC officials are going through on undeclared mourning for the killing of a well known Chinese businessman. 

The people of Muse, a booming a northern town opposite Ruili (Moengmao in Shan) of Yunan, the local junta there were hit hard by the death of He Lao-yang, an immigrant Chinese entrepreneur, on 21 July. His body was found in a village on the Ruili - Yinzhang highway, riddled with bullet holes and knife wounds. 

Speculations among the populace are that either he was liquidated by his ex-partners who felt betrayed by him or elements from the Chinese police who knew his criminal activities but did not have concrete evidence to arrest him. 

"He was intimate with other notorious personalities in the area", said one source. "Like Peng Jia-sheng, Lo Hsing-han and Yang Mao-liang. In fact, Lo and Peng are reported to have shares in his Peacock cigarette factory and Yahtaik travel agency". 

"He was the man whom the local authorities approached with their problems, both personal and official", another said. "And he was never heard to disappointed them". 

His funeral on 25 July was a big affair. Itwas attended by Maj. An Maw, Chairman of the Muse Township Peace and Development Committee and officials from various governmental departments.
